Classical Music in the Afternoon April 12, 2012

Maestro Intrilligator, music director of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, joins host Jacqueline Halbloom during the 2 o'clock hour to discuss the DSO's season finale on April 14 and 15, 2012. The program opens with Tragedy Tomorrow by Iowa-native Michael Gilbertson and features pianist Euntaek Kim on Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2. Tchaikovsky's fiery Symphony No. 4 will close the concert.

Join host Jacqueline Halbloom during the 3 o'clock hour for an interview with cellist Joshua Roman. Roman will be joining the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Joseph Giunta, for a performance of Lalo's Cello Concerto in D minor on April 14 and 15, 2012. The DMSO's program will also include three-time Grammy-winner Michael Daugherty's Red Cape Tango from the Metropolis Symphony and Dvořák's seventh symphony.
