The six Democrats running for their party's nomination for governor will square off in their second debate tonight on Iowa Public Television. Whoever wins the primary on June 5 will face Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds. The governor does not face a primary challenge

"2018 is absolutely do or die for the future of the Democratic Party in this state," says Iowa Starting Line Editor and Reporter Pat Rynard.

Rynard, a former Democratic staffer, says the candidates need to compare and contrast so voters can see how any of the candidates "stand up against [Gov.] Kim Reynolds."
