Caring For Pollinators

Jun 14, 2019

Pollinators are responsible for sustaining our ecosystem and producing natural resources by helping plants reproduce.  Approximately 90 percent of wild flowering plants and 75 percent of food crops around the world depend on pollination for successful production.

On this horticulture day edition of Talk of Iowa, Host Charity Nebbe talks to Randall Cass, Iowa State University Extension Entomologist and Mark Vitosh, DNR Forester about what to plant to support pollinators in our gardens and the bee research taking place at Iowa State University.

Later in the hour, Richard Jauron, Iowa State University Extension horticulture specialist, and Vitosh answer listener questions.
