Donald Trump: The Last Thing We Need Is Another Bush

Real estate magnante Donald Trump signs a photo after speaking to students at Simpson College in Indianola. Trump is considering a run for the White House (04/08/2015.)

Potential Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump spoke at Simpson College in Indianola this morning. The talk was billed as a conversation about education, though Trump spent much of the 40 minutes talking about his career in New York real estate.

When asked about his opinion of the common core, the real estate magnate said it was a "disaster." He then went on to criticize former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, another Republican flirting with a run for the White House.

"Bush, the last thing we need is another Bush. Bush is totally in favor of common core," Trump said. "I think that has to kill him with the Republicans. Because, he’s weak on immigration, all for amnesty. I mean all these issues. Is he a Democrat or a Republican?"

Bush, whose father and brother both served as president from 1989-1993 and 2001-09 respectively, is seen as a major contender for the Republican nomination.

So far Republican U.S. Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Rand Paul of Kentucky are the only major party candidates to officially enter the race. Both recently launched their campaigns and are also visiting Iowa this week.

Later today Trump is scheduled to attend a meet and greet with the Polk County Republican Party in Ankeny.
