"If it's okay, can I cut in? While we're pretending like we don't know good?"
That question is the first lyric you hear on James Tutson's new single "I Still Believe." It was the first song I listened to this morning, and by the time I got to the end of the track, I had determined I'd listen to it on repeat today. Yes, James. Please cut into my thoughts with this track, and remind me what's good.
"I asked myself 'if you had one thing to say to people after these last four tumultuous years of conflict, tension, uncertainty, and calamity, what would it be?'" Tutson wrote about the new single in a Facebook post. "In an instant I knew: 'I still believe in us.' The song fell out of my head and onto a track in what seemed like a moment. I used to consider myself a positive person, always seeing the bright side. I don’t think that’s true anymore. I’m now trying to be a hopeful person... Tomorrow might bring any number of unforeseen challenges. Still we hope. Still we try. Still we believe."
This is Tutson's second single from his forthcoming EP "Still," that's due out this summer.
