This Memorial Day weekend, renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma will perform Bach's six cello suites in memory of those lost during the pandemic and in honor of those serving on the front lines of the battle against coronavirus.

"A Musical Memorial and Tribute: Yo-Yo Ma Plays Bach's Cello Suites Live" will take place live in the studios of WGBH (Boston).

Listen on IPR Classical Sunday starting at 2 p.m. CT as Ma performs all six of J. S. Bach's cello suites live.

According to a press release, Ma's live performance comes during what would have been the final leg of the cellist's now-postponed The Bach Project, a 36-stop, six-continent tour. The Project is part of a larger conversation about how culture can help us to imagine and build the world we want.
