Elizabeth Moen Debuts New Music Video For 'Ex's House Party'
Have you had that moment when you realize a chapter in your life is over, you can't go back, and you have to adjust to the way things are now?
Elizabeth Moen has too, and she's here for your feels with a sultry new ode to life in the ever after.
"This song is about realizing that maybe some parts of our lives were never meant to be, and even if in the moment it felt like, 'wow this could be it,' it’s not. And that’s okay. Realizing harsh realities can be a painful time, especially at a house party," Moen laughs. "I hope people feel their feels with this song, and hopefully it helps them move on. I dunno. I am the queen of not moving on."
Moen has a spring full of tour dates ahead of her as she works to finish her third studio album, which is due out late this spring.
She's tracked the new album in three states so far, recording between Flat Black Studios in Lone Tree, the famous Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama, and at a studio in San Francisco.
"The bulk of recording has been in San Francisco with my friend Scott McDowell," she explains. "I met him a couple years ago, and I’ve wanted to work on a project with him since. Thanks to local friends out there, my bandmates and I were able to stay on couches and put together local shows to cover some additional costs."
"The album is going to be big. And small. And loud. And quiet," she says. "I want to showcase all the styles/genres I love to play in."
It's clear we can have high expectations after watching this new video.
