Event Description

Mount Mercy University's Fall Faculty Series

Whether interested in food for health, world hunger relief, or just to enjoy your favorite meal, we cannot escape the fact that our current food systems are unsustainable. As global population grows in the shadow of climate change, what we eat makes a big difference. Our food choices impact water security, carbon emissions, and global and local food security. In this talk, we will explore how we got to our current system and how a sustainable food system might look. How can we feed the world, reduce our carbon impact, and adapt to our changing climate?
