CANCELED: The Friends of KHKE/KUNI present Kevin Morby

3/13 UPDATE:

"Because of the COVID-19 outbreak, The Friends of KHKE/KUNI board have CANCELED the Kevin Morby Iowa Public Radio fundraising show scheduled for March 21 at the Electric Park Ballroom, Waterloo.

We felt cancellation was the most responsible thing to do considering the increasing number of confirmed cases in Iowa, as well as the many other events that have been canceled in the Cedar Valley and across Iowa.

A refund of your ticket price, as well as the handling fee, will appear on your credit card in 3-5 business days. If you have any questions about the refund, please call the National Cattle Congress at 319-234-7515.

Thank you for your understanding and for your support of Iowa Public Radio."

With his four acclaimed solo albums and myriad records of various collaboration, Kevin Morby has become a true musical auteur. His singular vision, literate lyrics, and aptitude for catchy, dense songwriting has placed him firmly among the ranks of modern icons like Bill Callahan, Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten, Will Oldham, and Jeff Tweedy. Each Morby record possesses its own unique persona and explores intriguing themes and fertile terrain through shifting, focused textures and dexterous, dedicated skill. And now, with the lavish, resplendent, career-best double LP Oh My God, Morby delivers a grandiose director’s cut of his biggest statement to date, epic in scope as well as sound.

Iowa City-based musician Penny Peach and Los Angeles-based band Hand Habits will take the stage ahead of Kevin Morby.

Tickets are on sale now at NationalCattleCongress.com. All seats are general admission, $25.00 in advance and at the door on the day of the show. Ticketing fees will apply.

All proceeds support Iowa Public Radio.
