I am thrilled to announce three key hires on the Enterprise Storytelling Unit, NPR's longform audio documentary team. The unit supports seasonal programming, including Invisibilia, Embedded and Rough Translation, limited-run shows like On Our Watch and the upcoming second season of White Lies, and special projects.
Neena Pathakwill join the unit as a Supervising Editor, working primarily with the Invisibilia team. Neena comes to us from the New York Times, where she produced The Daily, creating episodes on the Trump presidency, America's racial reckoning after the killing of George Floyd, and Covid-19. Her work was part of the Times' pandemic coverage that won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize in Public Service. She also produced Still Processing at the New York Times, where her work was nominated for an ASME National Magazine Award in 2020. Prior to that, Neena show-ran Another Round at BuzzFeed, worked on a variety of public radio podcasts at American Public Media and got her start at the Transom Story Workshop. Neena's first day with NPR will be January 3rd.
Justine Yan joins our team as an Assistant Producer, where she'll produce Rough Translation and special Up First episodes. Justine is no stranger to longform, having spent the last year working with Invisibilia, Rough Translation and Up First. She got her start with us as an intern of the 2020 Winter class. Before that, Justine earned an MFA in poetry from UC Irvine and studied architecture at Yale. She's taught English in Wuhan, written for an architecture magazine in Amsterdam, and taught poetry and Asian American Studies in Orange County.
Finally, I'm pleased to share that Adelina Lancianesehas joined the unit for a year-long assignment as a Producer II. Addie joins us from NPR's Content Development division, where she incubated new podcast ideas and project managed the annual Story Lab Workshop for the piloting of independent and Member-station podcasts. Addie has worked primarily on investigative, long-form projects for NPR. She was a producer for the first season of podcasts On Our Watch and Louder Than A Riot, the special radio series I'll Be Seeing You and, most recently, two episodes of Invisibilia. She came to NPR as a 2017 Kroc Fellow.
I could not be more excited have such talented, hard-working and kind people join our team as we head into a new year of programming. Please welcome them to their new roles.
