How One Worker's Illness Led To Massive COVID-19 Testing For Colleges, Hollywood

When a Clinical Reference Laboratory employee came down with COVID-19 in March, he gave his saliva to his coworkers who ran countless experiments day and night. Their goal was to design a quick, accurate saliva test for the coronavirus.

After months of research and regulatory red-tape, their saliva collection kit is now used by nursing homes, schools and Hollywood shows including “Dancing With The Stars.” Celia Llopis-Jepsen reports for Kansas News Service.
