Iowa Democrats Take Republican Secretary Of State To Court Over Mail-In Voting

Iowa Democrats are taking their Republican secretary of state to court over mail-in voting. At issue are absentee ballot requests that county auditors had pre-filled with voters’ information.

After about 64,000 voters submitted those forms, two judges ordered them thrown out, agreeing with the secretary of state that the county could only send blank ballot request forms.

The Iowa Democratic Party and two other groups filed a lawsuit this week to keep the ballot request forms in play. Here & Now’s Tonya Mosley speaks with Iowa Public Radio’s Katarina Sostaric.
