The National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Laura has weakened after making landfall early Thursday morning as a Category 4 storm with maximum sustained winds up to at least 150 mph.
Hurricane Laura came ashore at Cameron, Louisiana, just east of the Texas border. High wind is spreading well inland into parts of eastern Texas and western Louisiana.
