The U.S. recorded 1,000 deaths in a single day for the first time in two weeks as the country inches towards four million infections — a quarter of the world’s cases.
California recorded more than 12,807 cases in a single day, and Texas set a record for single-day deaths with close to 200. In Florida’s Miami-Dade County, infections have topped 92,000 — 7,000 more than all of China.
Dr. Aileen Marty, an infectious disease specialist at Florida International University, joins host Robin Young to discuss the latest on the pandemic.
