Netflix's Quarantine Success Renews Questions About Its Algorithm

Netflix is expected to have another strong quarter in its earnings report, building on the billions of dollars in revenue and a surge in new subscribers as a result of so many people being stuck at home during the pandemic.

Some of that success is due to Netflix’s growing stable of original programs like “Tiger King,” which Netflix says 64 million people watched at least some of since it debuted in March.

But it’s unclear how much the company promotes its own content over that of other producers. Here & Now‘s Tonya Mosley speaks with Rani Molla, reporter for Recode.
