Trump Administration Redirects Coronavirus Data To Contractor, Bypassing CDC

Beginning Wednesday, the Trump administration is telling hospitals and laboratories with data about coronavirus patients to bypass the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Instead, they’re being asked to report to a contractor for the Department of Health and Human Services. Some public health officials have said the change makes it harder to track and respond to the pandemic.
