'Wildflower' Marks the Return of Sheryl Crow

Since her breakout success in the mid-1990s, Sheryl Crow has maintained her status as one of music's most successful and popular artists. She visits the World Cafe for music and conversation about her forthcoming album, Wildflower.

The record is Crow's fifth studio album, arriving 11 years after her breakthrough debut, Tuesday Night Music Club. On it, the nine-time Grammy winner balances a spare production sensibility with sweeping arrangements.

Her new album will also give Crow's fans a change from the kinds of news stories that have mentioned her in the last two years. Instead of being an addendum to coverage of fiancé Lance Armstrong's Tour de France exploits, Crow is once again taking center stage.

This interview originally aired Sept. 23.
