In 1977, NASA lauched two missions called Voyager I and Voyager II. The missions were meant to carry a representation of human life and culture into infinite space. Part of what was on board was an extensive collection of music -- everything from ancient Japanese music to Peruvian panpipes, to Indian ragas, to Bach and Beethoven. We hear from one of the recordings that was included. It's a collection of Bach's solo keyboard music, played by Glenn Gould. From the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 2, the Prelude and Fugue No. 1.
