Jacqueline Du Pre was one of the greatest cellists ever. She died in 1987, never having fully realized a career that began to blossom in the 1960's. Today would have been her birthday. From one of her recordings, we hear the last movement of the Cello Sonata no. 2 by Brahms. (EMI 77377)
