Saint-Saens' restrained passion

The music of French composer Camille Saint-Saens is a model of elegance, structure, and passionate restraint. Pianist Marc-Andre Hamelin finds those traits in a performance of the Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, in concert at the Bellingham Music Festival, in northwest Washington state. Michael Palmer leads the American Sinfonietta.
