NPR's Julie McCarthy reports from London that German-born photographer Wolfgang Tillmans has won Britain's Turner prize for contemporary art. Tillman's works includes photos of a man urinating, rats picking at garbage, a laughing boy lying naked on the beach. The prize has usually provoked outrage among traditionalists. In 1998, it was won by an artist who showed a painting of the Virgin Mary marked with elephant dung. This year's hopefuls were somewhat tamer than past contestants.
