Election News Overview

NPR's Steve Inkseep has an overview of the presidential election news. It now appears that the Florida election results will be contested, even after they are certified on Sunday. Both campaigns appear to be digging in for a longer battle. The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear a Bush campaign appeal of the Florida Supreme Court Decision requiring hand-counts to be included in the state's final vote tally. Republicans continue to push for Florida counties to count disputed military ballots. And Republican Vice Presidential candidate Dick Cheney has been released from the hospital, after suffering what doctors described as a "very slight" heart attack earlier this week.
