Military Ballots

No issue has been more of a flashpoint in Florida's recount of presidential ballots than the disallowing of overseas absentee ballots from military personnel. Hundreds of ballots arrived lacking postmarks, voter signatures or signatures by witnesses needed to authenticate the ballot. Local officials said they treated these defective ballots just as they have in past years, but this year every ballot has become a potential battleground. NPR's Steve Inskeep reports.
