NPR's Jon Hamilton reports on a new study showing a high rate of medical errors at a large Chicago hospital. Until now, the debate over medical errors has shed more heat than light on the problem. The new study adds support to those who maintain that the rate of errors is unacceptably high. It appears in this month's issue of Archives of Surgery.
