1960 Presidential Election

Host Bob Edwards talks to Theodore Lowey, professor of American Institutions at Cornell University, about voting irregularities in the 1960 presidential election between Nixon and Kennedy. Nixon conceded to Kennedy's slim lead of a hundred nineteen thousand votes, even though Republicans had hoped for recounts in eleven states. In Illinois, massive voter fraud by Mayor Richard J. Daley's political machine was suspected.
