USAF Midwest Winds Woodwind Quintet Visit Studio One for Live Broadcast

Tony Dehner

The United States Air Force Midwest Winds Woodwind Quintet visited Studio One for a special live broadcast on Iowa Public Radio’s Performance Iowa on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at noon. Comprised of members of the USAF Band of Mid-America, the ensemble features Senior Airman Rachel Maclary, flute; Staff Sergeant Jennifer Kost, oboe; Senior Airman Craig Buying, clarinet; Senior Airman Sara Garing, bassoon; and Master Sergeant Peter Hensel, French Horn.

The United States Air Force Midwest Winds Woodwind Quintet is proud to deliver world-class musical experiences to audiences of all sizes. The ensemble performs music of all styles and genres, ranging from the Renaissance to patriotic favorites. The quintet is normally called on to provide music for official military functions, but its members also offer master classes, clinics, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with a professional musical group, as well as learn more about the United States Air Force.

The Midwest Winds Woodwind Quintet’s visit to Studio One includes highlights from its touring program. They will be performing at 8:00 pm after their Studio One performance in Davis Hall at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center in Cedar Falls. The group will present educational outreach on Wednesday in Webster City and conclude its Iowa tour with a performance at the Des Moines Art Center on Thursday, February 5, in Levitt Auditorium.
