SOI Presents: wcfsymphony's "Water Music"

Jan 20, 2016

This week’s Symphonies of Iowa broadcast features the wcfsymphony’s “Water Music” concert. The concert includes the world premiere of Jerome Margolis’ Rivers Run Free as well as Handel’s iconic Water Music and Music for the Royal Fireworks.

wcfsymphony performing at RiverLoop Amphitheatre

Both of Handel’s pieces were written to be performed outdoors during royal events: a boating excursion and celebratory fireworks. Rivers Run Free was inspired by traveling such rivers as the Nile, Amazon, Thames and Mississippi, white water in Alaska and America’s countless tributaries. The concert was performed at Waterloo’s stunning RiverLoop Amphitheatre. Join us on Sunday, February 7 at 4 p.m. and again on Monday, February 8 at 7 p.m. for this Symphonies of Iowa broadcast!
