SOI Presents: DMSO's "Invitation to the Dance"

May 22, 2018

Lisa-Marie Mazzucco

This week’s Symphonies of Iowa broadcast features the Des Moines Symphony’s “Invitation to the Dance” concert. Also included in this broadcast will be Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in g Minor and Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances.

Two-time GRAMMY nominated violinist Jennifer Frautschi joins the symphony to perform Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in g Minor. As the Chicago Tribune noted, "violinist Jennifer Frautschi is molding a career with smart interpretations of both warhorses and rarities." Equally at home in the classic and contemporary repertoire, her recent seasons have featured innumerable performances and recordings of works ranging from Brahms and Schumann to Berg and Schoenberg.

Join us on Sunday, May 27th at 4 p.m., and again on Monday, May 28th at 7 p.m for this Symphonies of Iowa broadcast!
