Join Iowa Public Radio in a special broadcast of the recital of renowned soprano Sarah Jane McMahon, at noon on both Friday November 29, 2013 and Sunday, December 8, 2013.

  McMahon has traveled across the country performing in lead roles in major opera companies. She frequents the New York City Opera and recently made her debut with the San Francisco Symphony, Munich Philharmonic, and Wiener Konzert Haus, in addition to singing opposite Placido Domingo in a Gala concert. She has received The New York Times Kolozsvar Award for her performance as Galatea in Handel's Acis and Galatea and received their praise as "the most polished and flexible singer in the cast" and a "silvery-voiced soprano." 

This broadcast comes from her recital with the Des Moines Metro Opera on January 6, 2013. McMahon has appeared with DMMO as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Lisette in La Rondine, and Abigail Williams in The Crucible. Please join us for this unique and unforgettable performance.
