Ring in the New Year with Joshua Bell

This New Year’s Day at noon, Iowa Public Radio’s Performance Iowa in collaboration with WVIK, presents a broadcast of the Quad City Symphony’s concert recorded on May 3rd of 2018 with world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell. Mr. Bell is one of the most celebrated violinists of his era. An exclusive Sony Classical artist, Bell has recorded more than 40 CDs garnering Grammy, Mercury, Gramophone and Echo Klassik awards and is recipient of the Avery Fisher Prize.  Named the Music Director of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields in 2011, he is the only person to hold this post since Sir Neville Marriner formed the orchestra in 1958.

You’ll hear an exclusive Joshua Bell interview with WVIK’s Mindy Heusel, as well as the Quad City Symphony performing Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and Symphony No. 7. Mr. Bell takes the stage with his 1713 Huberman Stradivarius to perform Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1. Celebrate the New Year with IPR’s Performance Iowa broadcast of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra’s “An Evening with Joshua Bell” concert on New Year’s Day, Tuesday, January 1st at noon.
