University of Iowa President Sally Mason testifies at a budget hearing at the Iowa Statehouse

Iowa’s Board of Regents has released the names of a 21-person search committee that’ll be recommending candidates to be the University of Iowa’s next president. The search committee’s chairman Dr. Jean Robillard, was announced a few days ago.

With nine members, the UI faculty has the largest representation on the committee.  New names include Regents’ President Bruce Rastetter and the Board’s President Pro-tem Katie Mulholland along with two members who are University of Iowa students.

Rastetter has previously indicated that an interim president will be appointed when UI President Sally Mason retires at the end of July.

Previous search committees for presidential vacancies at Iowa State and University of Northern Iowa have recommended three candidates to the Board of Regents for a final selection.

The full list of search committee members can be found here.
