Organics Growing in Iowa

Demand for organic produce in Iowa is growing.

I'm constantly hearing from people that they want more organic produce, but there aren't enough producers out there. - Kathleen Delate

That’s according to Kathleen Delate, a Professor and organic specialist with Iowa State University. “I'm constantly hearing from people that they want more organic produce, but there aren't enough producers out there.”

During this Talk of Iowa interview, Delate talks with host Charity Nebbe about this year’s organic crop, and what we know about how much organic produce is grown in Iowa. Iowa State Extension horticulture specialist Richard Jauron also joins the conversation.

This year’s Annual Iowa Organic Conference is quickly approaching. It will be held November 16 and 17 in Iowa City. Find more information here.
