Yesterday kicked off the 28th Iowa Senior Games - an Olympic-style sports festival for men and women who are at least 50 years of age. The games will continue to Sunday, June 15, in West Des Moines. There are more than 80 events with the games, including sports like archery, cycling, basketball, softball, racquetball, and a triathlon. For the first time in 17 years, the NBA is coming to Des Moines’ Wells Fargo Arena. This October, the Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors will play a pre-season game in Iowa. The announcement was made yesterday, and it was also mentioned that expected to be in attendance of the game is Ames native and Golden State forward, Harrison Barnes.
