Marketplace Morning Report at a New Time

Fans of Marketplace Morning Report will be hearing business news at a new time.  Starting Monday, September 22, 2014 Marketplace Morning Report will be heard at 5:50 and 7:50 a.m. on Iowa Public Radio.

This change represents a new collaboration between the two major providers of IPR's national programming, NPR and American Public Media.  NPR has made the decision to no longer produce a separate business segment for Morning Edition and will replace it with Marketplace Morning Report.  This agreement broadens the reach of Marketplace Morning Report, allowing more listeners to benefit from its robust business segment every morning.  NPR will be able to make the best use of its resources, producing other coverage, like "Planet Money," that will appear elsewhere in Morning Edition and in other shows.  Overall, this demonstrates innovative thinking about collaboration in the public radio system.

Commentaries by Frank DeFord and other content normally heard as part of Morning Edition will continue, shifting time to accommodate this change in Marketplace Morning Report.  We apologize for any disruption to your normal listening habits.

Any questions or concerns can be shared with Katherine Perkins, Acting News/Talk. Program Director at kperkins@iowapublicradio.org.
