Iowa’s highest-ranking Democratic office holder is predicting the Presidential campaign in Iowa will be very competitive with extensive spending to win the state’s electoral delegates.
And 2nd District Congressman Dave Loebsack is warning his party not to take anything for granted against apparent Republican nominee Donald Trump.
“I think we have to be very, very careful because Donald Trump has demonstrated a tremendous appeal to a lot of people, and some of those are often traditionally Democrats as well,” he says. “I don’t take anything for granted. I don’t think the Clinton campaign is going to either.”
Loebsack’s comments came during Friday’s taping of an Iowa Press program that will air on a future date on Iowa Public Television.
