One of IPR's favorite Christmas traditions continues on December 7th! Our Studio One Underground series will be wrapping up 2017 with A Conquered Christmas, coming to you live from the Des Moines Social Club for the third year in a row. Once again, the show will be hosted by Christopher The Conquered, the singer-songwriter originally from Des Moines, now based in Colorado.
As with the previous two years, we're handing the whole show over to Christopher and a wide variety of guest artists. We'll hear some great holiday classics, along with some other songs appropriate for the time of year. It's been a real pleasure the past two years seeing some of Iowa's best artists come together for this unique show celebrating the Christmas season, and we're eagerly awaiting this year's show!
Some of the guests that will be appearing on this year's A Conquered Christmas include David Zollo, Dustin Smith of The Maytags, Brother Trucker, Gloom Balloon (joined by members of the Des Moines Symphony), RunDSM, Max Wellman, Des Moines Gay Men's Chorus, King of the Tramps, Brooks Strause, Iowa Jazz Hall of Famer Tina Haase Findlay, Adam Bruce, TWINS, Adrien Logsdon of Trouble Lights, IPTV's Kellie Kramer and IPR's own Clay Masters (no, really).
Showtime is 7 pm on Thursday, December 7th, and as always, we'll be in the Basement at the Des Moines Social Club. Freewill donations to Iowa Public Radio will be accepted at the door. We hope to see you for A Conquered Christmas, and if you can't join us, be sure to tune in!
