A Hour of Good News, Thankfulness, and Acts of Kindness

A lot of people in 2017 have heard that "it's hard to listen to the news." Between natural disasters, political developments, and acts of violence, it's been an eventful year. During this hour of Talk of Iowa, Charity Nebbe talks about good news, acts of kindness, and thankfulness.

Emma Reinhart is an 8th grader from Panora who is undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis, and she's going to Italy next fall thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation. Then we hear about college sports' new favorite trend, the "Kinnick wave," and we talk about a sister who received a kidney from her older brother.

To finish the hour, we have the story of a father's grace and an office who combined resources and efforts to make sure a Des Moines family has a happy Christmas.

Lindsey Moon served as IPR's Senior Digital Producer - Music and the Executive Producer of IPR Studio One's All Access program.
