Live from the front lawn of Brucemore mansion in Cedar Rapids, Iowa Public Radio’s Performance Iowa is pleased to bring you Orchestra Iowa’s Brucemorchestra! An American Salute concert on Sunday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.

The All-American program includes the music of three of America’s most beloved composers: Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, and Aaron Copland. Bass-Baritone Kevin Deas, fresh off the national tour of Porgy and Bess, joins Orchestra Iowa for Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess Suite. The program, which kicks off Orchestra Iowa’s 93rd concert season, also includes Bernstein’s Three Dance Episodes from On the Town, Overture to Candide, and Symphonic Dances from West Side Story, as well as Copland’s Old American Songs.
