The annual Russian Guitar Festival in Iowa City will focus on Ukrainian music this year in light of the recent turmoil in the country.

"We want to bring the richness and the excitement of Slavic cultures to Iowa audiences," explains OlegTimofeyev, who is originally from Moscow and now calls the United States home.

During this Talk of Iowa interview, host Charity Nebbe talks with Timofeyev, Roman Turovsky,  and Taras Kompanichenko. She also gets an in-studio performance.

The festival is sponsoring two gala concerts this weekend, one at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City on Sunday and the other at CSPS in Cedar Rapids on Saturday night
