Lovers Know is the third full-length album from The Mynabirds, the band founded by singer-songwriter and keyboard player Laura Burhenn in 2009. She had previously been one half of the Washington, D.C. duo Georgie James. Burhenn signed to Saddle Creek Records and relocated to Omaha, Saddle Creek's home base. The new Mynabirds release is an introspective album lyrically, influenced by the breakup of a long relationship and Burhenn's self-described "endless driving across the U.S." She likes to change the sound of The Mynabirds for each album, and for Lovers Know she drew upon 80s synth pop and 90s R&B.
