When they receive their bachelor’s degree, a majority of Iowa graduates are in debt. On average, these students owe $29,000 in college loan debt when they graduate with a bachelor's degree.

The Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism, IowaWatch.org, has been examining students who live in the now while in college, and then face the prospects of paying huge amounts off in debt.
