Bernard McDonald, pianist, conductor and director of opera at Simpson College, joins host Jacqueline Halbloom during the 2 o'clock hour to discuss the upcoming guest artist recital of baritone and Simpson College graduate John Michael Moore. Moore will also be returning to Iowa this summer to sing the title role in the Des Moines Metro Opera's production of Eugene Onegin.
On next week's recital, McDonald joins Moore as collaborative pianist on a variety of selections from Schubert's Schwanengesang, Poulenc's Chanson Gaillardes, Copland's Old American Songs and more. The recital will take place at Simpson's Great Hall at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012.
