The Biggest Rolodex in Sports

Larry Cotlar at the mike

Larry Cotlar of Des Moines has been a fixture in Iowa sports broadcasting for many decades.  And with that kind of history, including sports reporting on WHO, Cotlar has a wealth of stories to share. And make no mistake, he's a good story-teller.   In fact, one can expect new stories as Cotlar continues his career in sports as the play-by-play voice of the Drake Bulldogs.

With a career that started at WHO in 1974, Cotlar has known a lot of people.   He writes about his life in sports reporting in his new memoir, "The Biggest Rolodex in Sports; Amazing Experiences Honoring the Past and Living the Present."  You'll find in reading the book that Cotlar has interviewed an amazing range of sports personalities in all fields, especially in Iowa.

Charity asks the author to relate some of his many anecdotes about such luminaries as Hayden Fry, Johnny Orr, Dolph Pulliam, Jim Zabel, Mike Newell, Dan Gable and others.
