Actress Melissa Gilbert on Life After "Little House on the Prairie"

Reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie books is a rite of passage for millions of children. 

For one entire generation, the actress Melissa Gilbert is Laura. 

Since her Little House on the Prairie days, Gilbert has served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and published an autobiography Prairie Tale: A Memoir. She’s now released another book: My Prairie Cookbook: Memories and Frontier Food From My Little House to Yours.  During this Talk of Iowa interview, Charity Nebbe talks with Gilbert about her cookbook, her favorite Little House on the Prairie episodes and her life and career after she made her debut as “Half-pint.”
